A Systematic Approach to Academic Assessment
At Apex Academy Sr. Sec. School, examination and evaluation are an important part of the academic process. Our assessment system is designed to monitor the academic progress of students throughout the year and provide teachers with a clear understanding of each student's learning and development.
Regular assessment, classroom observation, assignments, projects, unit tests and periodic examinations help teachers understand students' progress and identify areas where additional guidance may be required.
Continuous Assessment Framework
Primary & Middle Classes
Evaluation relies on continuous observation and regular performance tracking:
- Day-to-day classroom observation
- Monthly academic evaluations & Unit Tests (I, II, III)
- Periodic, Half-Yearly, and Final examinations
- Projects and internal assessments
Senior & Board Classes
Structured evaluation incorporating internal components and exam performance:
- Targeted board exam preparation
- Regular revision and mock testing
- Monitoring progress to enhance performance
Internal Assessment
Broader academic development measured via:
- Class performance, attendance, & discipline
- Assignments, internal tests, & practical work
- Subject-related activities and projects
Practical Evaluation & Academic Support
Practical & Project Evaluation
Learning extends beyond written exams. Students participate in laboratory activities (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Geography, Home Science), working models, and projects to demonstrate hands-on understanding.
Supporting Student Growth
Evaluations highlight areas needing improvement. When students struggle with specific concepts, additional guidance and extra coaching classes are provided to ensure better academic performance.
Examination Discipline & Academic Honesty
Students must maintain strict discipline and follow all exam instructions. Academic honesty is vital: any student found using unfair means during tests will receive no marks in the concerned subject and a formal warning letter will be issued.
